The sound of the body in the stillness by Iratxe Ansa Santesteban (Spain)
A highly-skilled European contemporary ballet solo piece by Spanish dancer-choreographer Iratxe Ansa. She has spectacular dance experiences, performing in the Lyon Opera Ballet, Compañia Nacional de Danza Madrid, and Nederlands Dance Theatre, working with some of the most world-renowned choreographers such as Nacho Duato, Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Mats Ek, Crystal Pite, Wayne McGregor and Ohad Naharin. Ansa won the Best Dancer prize at the International Solo Tanz Theater Festival in Germany.
Perfect Idea by Kim Dong-kyu (Korea)
Award-winning Korean choreographer Kim Dong-kyu, also the founder of R.se Dance Company explores Perfect Idea, was intrigued by the fickleness and inconsistency of human behavior. Dong-kyu was recognised as the next generation choreographer by the Korea Arts Council in 2011-2012 along with numerous choreography awards such as Best Choreography in the Korea Dance Awards and the Seoul Dance Festival in 2014, and a Grand Prize in the 27th Seoul Dance Festival in 2013.
Tschüss!! Bunny by Liu Yen-Cheng (Taiwan)
A dance theatre duo from the In Theatre (Taiwan) with a gritty take on an attitude-toward-life when confronting separation and rebirth, which simply means “Saying goodbye to the old-self and welcoming the new-I.” The piece was invited to perform at the Festival Off d’Avignon (France), BETA PUBLIE (Spain) and the Next Choreography Project (Taiwan).
RE:DIVISION by Naoto Katori and Ikumi Kurosu (Japan)
A dance-like cell division by partners, Naoto Katori and Ikumi Kurosu, conveys a process in which things that were originally similar become divided and transformed into either something simple or complex. This piece won the Sibiu International Theatre Festival Prize and the Touchpoint Art Foundation Prize at the Yokohama Dance Collection EX 2015.
