EXCHANGE ONE: d'MOTION Festival 2015 & Yokohama Dance Collection, "The Game"
Malaysia's Amy Len of Kwang Tung Dance Company, who earned a nomination for Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative (Dance) 2012/2013 collaborates with Japan's Naoto Katori, winner of the Sibiu International Theatre Festival Prize and Touchpoint Art Foundation Prize at the Yokohama Dance Collection EX 2015 to create a new work. It will be performed by Naoto Katori and Wong Jyh Shyong of DPAC Dance Company, who won the Best Featured Performer at the 9th and 11th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards.
EXCHANGE TWO: T.H.E Second Company & Seoul Dance Collection, "--:--"
Selected by Lianhe Zaobao as a "rising star to watch" (2015 艺术新星－照耀未来星空, 1 Jan 2015), Singapore's Goh Shou Yi collaborates with Korea's Kim Hwan Hee who won the first prize at 8th Seoul International Dance Competition to present a new piece which premiered at the Seoul Performing Arts Festival (Korea). This piece will be performed by T.H.E Second Company.
EXCHANGE THREE: DPAC Dance Company & Ergao Dance Production Group, "Disco-Teca"
The premiere of d’MOTION’s first commissioned work is by DPAC Dance Company’s resident choreographer, China’s Er Gao from Ergao Dance Production Group who is widely known for his unique cutting-edge choreography style. This piece develops a trans-cultural dialogue which explores brand new ways of body expression, creates and performs a unique approach in choreography. It will be performed by DPAC Dance Company (DDC), the recipient of The Best Group Performance at the 12th BOH Cameronian Arts Awards 2014.
